Hello! It has been a very busy month here at Aurosó Chocolate HQ. We launched just over two weeks ago and are thrilled to have received lots and lots of orders. It’s been pretty non-stop keeping up! Launching during a pandemic has definitely had its challenges… But we’re really happy to finally be getting our chocolate out there for people to taste and enjoy.
We’re very lucky to have had two fantastic reviews to kick-start our launch. The first is from David Fiske at chocolatier.co.uk. David’s blog is on a mission to find ‘the best, the most innovative, the most exciting, and the most unique chocolate on the planet.’
David wrote a really in-depth review analysing each bar in detail. His favourites were our Coffee Macadamia and Rose Geranium bars.
On our Coffee Macadamia bar, David said: ‘Absolutely delicious! This bar exhibits a rich coffee aroma intertwined with a walnut-esque nuttiness… This has a rich, robust flavour that is espresso-like in intensity. The flavour rounds off in the aftertaste, with a fruity cocoa undertone and a subtle nuttiness from the macadamias.’
And on our Rose Geranium: ‘The floral aroma was instantly recognisable and there’s no mistaking this was rose-flavoured chocolate, albeit spiked with geranium…The flavours were both punchy and fragrant enough to stand up against the bitterness of the chocolate, but never strayed into the realm of potpourri…If you’ve been looking for an indulgent Turkish Delight flavoured chocolate with bold flavours and minimal sugars, this is it.’

Our second review came from Annalisa Barbieri writing in her feature Notes on Chocolate at The Observer. It was rather exciting to see it in the magazine and have a read over our Sunday breakfast!
Annalisa said she’s been searching for a ‘more grown up, yet more exciting than a regular slab bar of chocolate’ for a while, and we’re thrilled that we’ve ticked that box for her.
Annalisa’s favourites were our ‘lemon coriander, the strawberry lemon (fizzy!), date and tahini, and rose geranium, all super complex.’
Annalisa also talks about how she often gets asked for chocolate recommendations that are low sugar, which solidifies our belief that a low sugar chocolate bar that doesn’t compromise on ingredients or flavour is something that people are after (not just us!).
